JULY

Saturday 24th: Manchester Jazz Festival

Description:

A chance to see a collection of various Jazz entertainers at Manchester's Jazz festival starting with Glazz (Spain).The first of this year's ever-popular visitors from Spain are this lively group of restless spirits from El Puerto de Santa Maria, dressing their flamenco roots with the strength of rock. There is a chance to move venues and watch a further selection of entertainment.

There is a bar (of course), and outdoor area with food outlets serving British; Chinese; Italian; Spanish and German cuisine, (vegetarian options included). There is an option to move on later and eat or stay in the Jazz festival grounds. Further information can be found on the Jazz festival's website, including a detailed timetable.

AUGUST

Friday 6th: Whim Wham Club

Description:

Featuring Ginger La Rouge and the Gypsies of Bohemia (live) A sound track for dancing with the most modern music from across the ages - roaring twenties, thirties and forties, jazz, swing, rockin' blues, 50's rock n roll. And plenty more music to kick your puppy. Anything goes, you just need to have style. This is not fancy dress. They just want us to dress fancy.

Saturday 7th: Stockport Town Centre Ale Trail

Description:

Follow the trail of the historic market place pubs in Stockport Town Centre.
The route begins at the Arden Arms pub (next to Asda) at 16:00 and from there will cover approximately another seven pubs (details to be confirmed nearer the time- all around the market place).
There will be an opportunity to purchase food at the Calverts Court (Weatherspoons pub) at 6.00pm and people can join us there at that point if they wish.

Extra:

Trains from Stockport to Manchester run frequently up to 23:41 and the bus runs through the night.


Saturday 21st: Salsa Night at Copacabana's

Description:

Come and try a bit of Salsa at Copacabana's. It is Columbian Salsa on Saturdays. There are different classes starting at 20:00 prompt, to accommodate all levels - Beginner, intermediate or Advanced. No partner required. There are cocktails available at the bar for those brave enough to try them before dancing! After the class feel free to dance the night away or alternatively we can head to bars nearby e.g. Lamars, depending on how people feel.

Copacabana, Sevendale House, Dale Street, Northern Quarter, Manchester, M1 2HF. Meet 19:45 inside Copacabana's. The lesson commences at 20:00 prompt. It's a five minute walk from Piccadilly.

£4.50, or £3.50 for students (student ID is required).
